Fuel cells are already demonstrating their transformative power and their future as an energy solution looks increasingly positive. The market for fuel cell technology is expanding at a rapid rate, with more than €1 billion in investment since 2008. Powering everything from forklifts and laptops to combined heat and power for commercial, industrial and residential buildings, fuel cells have an impressively wide array of applications.
With the assistance of the Scottish and UK Hydrogen Fuel Cell Associations and Hydrogen Europe, as well as municipal and city partners such as Hydrogen London, we have made valuable progress in supporting clean energy for urban and industrial use.
We also strongly support Scottish Renewables’ 50% renewable energy target for Scotland by 2030, combined with expansion of local provision and an integrated approach to energy delivery. Read all about it here.
These partnerships are crucial as we continue to expand our fuel cell capabilities. They are the foundation of our drive to ensure fuel cell technology is readily available for applications across the UK and Europe.
