Doosan Babcock secures long term maintenance agreements at GASCO Habshan complex in Abu Dhabi

Energy engineering specialist Doosan Babcock has signed two long term maintenance agreements (LTMA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO), part of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group. Under the five-year contracts, the firm will provide essential maintenance and shutdown services for plant at Abu Dhabi’s Habshan and Bab complex - one of the world’s largest gas processing complexes.

This latest contract follows on from Doosan Babcock’s provision of specialist engineering technologies for steam generation plant assets across all GASCO sites.

Commenting on the win, Steve Hunt, VP Global Service, Doosan Babcock, said: “We are delighted to be working with GASCO again, and especially on such critical plant. Our focus on a long-term partnership approach to the maintenance and management of customer assets allows us to fully focus on their strategic needs, and is also proving to be a sound strategy for developing our business in the Middle East region.”

The contract represents a significant strategic step for Doosan Babcock’s growing business in the United Arab Emirates, which recently saw the opening of its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Engineering Consultancy Hub in Abu Dhabi, designed to provide a range of specialist engineering services to help customers in the power, water, oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial sectors maintain and extend the life of their plant.
