    Doosan Babcock employees support fourth Doosan Day of Community Service

    Employees at UK-based engineering specialist Doosan Babcock today joined colleagues around the world in a day of charitable deeds to mark the fourth Doosan Day of Community Service. Around 400 Doosan Babcock employees in the UK, Germany, Poland, Hong Kong and the UAE kept the community spirit alive as they participated in charitable activities ranging from renovating a bandstand to installing a greenhouse.

    The activities formed part of the Doosan Day of Community Service, a global initiative from the Korea-based Doosan Group designed to raise awareness of corporate social responsibility among its 43,000 employees worldwide.

    Among those to benefit from the volunteers’ work were:
    • Bibic in Bristol
    • Craigelea Care Home, Renfrew
    • Crossroads Foundation in Hong Kong
    • Forward Assist, Northumberland
    • High Flyers, Wombourne
    • Larbert Day Nursery, Falkirk
    • Penrhos Stanley Hospital, Holyhead
    • Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract
    • Rockinghorse Charity, Brighton
    • Sparrow Playgroup, Morecambe
    • Selby and Goole Foodbank
    • Step Up Group, Goole
    • The Springboard Project, Crawley
    • The Trussell Trust UK Foodbank Network
    • Renfrewshire Women’s Aid, Renfrew
    • Whitehaven Copeland Borough Council

    The Doosan Day of Community Service is a global initiative that sees up to 10,000 Doosan employees in 16 countries volunteer their time in support of their local communities.

    Simon Hopkins, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Doosan Babcock, said:

    “The Doosan Day of Community Service allows us to make meaningful contributions to the communities we operate in. Corporate Social Responsibility remains an integral part of our business, and this initiative is a fantastic way for us to pursue that while reaching those most in need. A big ‘thank you’ to all our colleagues for taking part and for making a positive difference in their local communities.”
