Adama Kurang - Graduate Engineer
I joined the Doosan Babcock graduate programme in 2004 after graduating with a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering and Control Systems and Instrumentation.

I applied to Doosan Babcock because of its reputation as one of the top companies offering unique energy and environmental solutions to clients globally. I already knew of other people who worked for the Company and they spoke favourably of it, especially with respect to the development of graduate engineers.

Since joining Doosan Babcock I have been involved in many exciting projects, including the commissioning of a NOx Reduction Test Facility (NRTF) in Scotland. Here I was able to gain practical knowledge of some of the major aspects of chemical engineering, as well as develop a good awareness of mechanical engineering. Next, I worked within the Strategic Development department. I really enjoyed this project because I was able to learn about the challenges and risks involved when investing in new markets and new technologies.

All the projects I have work on are structured to fit in with my training towards achieving chartered membership of the IChemE. The range of opportunities is large and there is help and advice available, whatever career path you decide to take.
