ATEX 100a 94/9/EC is aimed at manufacturers and introduces harmonisation of the standards for equipment and protective systems used in the EC. A single CE mark indicates compliance removing the need for individual testing and separate documentation for each state, allowing free trade. The complementary directive ATEX 137 1999/92/EC is aimed at employers and is to ensure that workers throughout Europe are provided with a minimum level of protection whilst working in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
Doosan Babcock provides expertise in both these directives, which enables our customers to fulfil their obligations as an employer and to have confidence that all equipment and systems specified for use in their workplace have been correctly identified, designed and installed to fulfil all aspects of the equipment directive. To this end we only specify equipment from suppliers and manufacturers with a proven track record in ATEX approved equipment. By ensuring ATEX 100a 94/9/EC is applied rigorously, Doosan Babcock helps our customers to comply with ATEX 137 1999/92/EC by providing a safe workplace environment avoiding the ignition of explosive atmospheres.
