Doosan Babcock has been building new power plants for thermal power generation since the 1890's. Today our focus is on the design, supply, repair and maintenance, upgrade and eventual decommissioning of oil, gas, coal or biomass thermal power plant. The outstanding quality of our technology is demonstrated by our being recognised as a global leader in the supply of new, highly efficient coal fired power plant, also made possible by our proprietary environmental control technology.

Doosan Babcock has an excellent track record of completing large scale projects on time and within budget for an impressive range of power companies. Through our thermal power activities we contribute to improving the environment and to supporting growing economies. In China our work with Harbin Boiler Company in 2004 secured the largest percentage of new power plant orders globally. These plants not only meet the ever expanding power demands of the Chinese economy but also emit 20-30% less CO2 than conventional plants.

On existing power plant we help our customers to improve their businesses and meet the energy demands of developed economies in a sustainable way. In the UK we delivered the first successful Boosted Overfire Air NOx abatement project at Drax Power Station. In the Balkans we have been involved in large scale refurbishment projects in Kosovo and Serbia.
