When it comes to emissions control requirements from fossil fired utility boilers then Doosan Babcock can offer a solution to suit your needs. Doosan Babcock’s knowledge and experience of emissions from fossil fired utility boilers and the various control technologies required to reduce these emissions give an excellent advantage in the specification and supply of Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS).
Supercritical steam conditions lead to higher cycle efficiencies and as a result CO2 emissions are lower. Doosan Babcock’s OTSC or Posiflow™ technologies can be applied to new utility boiler designs and Posiflow™ technology can be retrofitted to existing subcritical plant to significantly reduce emissions of CO2.
Doosan Babcock offers a wide range of solutions for the control of NOx emissions including combustion (Low NOx Burners, SOFA, BOFA and reburn) and post combustion (SNCR, NOxStar™, NOxStar™ Plus, SCR) control technologies. The NOx emissions solution chosen will be dependant on the individual situation and could be only one or a combination of the above technologies.
It is not just NOx and CO2. Doosan Babcock has a wide range of experience with the control of SO2 and particulate emissions over many years and can specify the most appropriate flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) and dust collecting plant to suit the individual requirements of each situation. The interaction between the technologies within the AQCS needs to be recognised especially when considering mercury emissions and specifying the combinations of control equipment to be used.
