Doosan Babcock’s technical strengths, combined with our knowledge of the relevant international legislation, related codes of best practice and standards, enable us to deliver a highly competitive design and engineering service tailored to our customers’ business requirements.
Our design and engineering teams operate in support of manufacturing, projects and site implementation groups and also assist customers directly. The work can range from design input on a consultancy basis to major projects. We also undertake one off troubleshooting contracts, for example the redesign of components that have historically affected plant reliability.
Our engineers employ a wide range of in house and proprietary computational and analysis tools such as mechanical design by code (piping, vessels, structures), finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer, flow distribution, system pressure drop modelling and fracture mechanics. These are backed up by advanced tools for generating documentation including laser scanning and sophisticated 360 panoramic imaging to speed up the creation of engineering drawings and to confirm plant layouts prior to major modifications. We also have sophisticated database packages for collating, processing and management of technical data for applications such as inspection strategies, maintenance planning and risk based asset management.
